“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is
probably one of the oldest sayings in the world. I think it is absurd that we still
have to say it today. Being raised in the south is something I thank God for
because there is just something about southerners that other people just don’t
really have or grasp; manors. I have never understood how someone can be so
rude right off the bat without understanding others situations. I know that everyone
has bad days but that doesn’t give you a reason to be ugly. I guess maybe it is
just me being tender hearted and compassionate. I have a hard time saying no to
someone and I also have a hard time having to be ugly. I wish I didn’t get my
feelings hurt so easily but I guess that’s life! Maybe we would have world
peace if everyone would just follow that golden rule of doing unto others. I guess I will end in the words of the fabulous Miranda Lambert "I don't have to be hateful, I can just say bless your heart".
I see what you are saying but I have been all over the states and overseas and honestly I think this area is like anywhere else, you have your southern comforters and those southerners that dont give a damn about anyone or anything but themselves. It is the way of life and as long as the saying "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is probably just as old as "nice guy/girls finish last". People can choose to live eithier way but from what I have seen, nice people make it in like but take a rough time getting there while the mean ones can make it to, not as much but the ones who do tend to be better then anyone.
ReplyDeleteI teach my children that saying almost everyday. I take great pride in my children always using manners and treating everyone with respect. I have been many places and I find that people in the South are much nicer. Southern Hospitality is what they call it. I think its just how people are raised and the cultures are different all around the world.
