My life...

My name is Stephanie. I am a nurse, personal chef, chauffer, janitor, and friend tied up into one package – a mommy! I love being a mother. I have a three year old princess named Kendall. She is my motivation for everything I do. She consumes my day, my mind, and my heart! But bettering our lives is my main goal. I work full time at a little cupcake boutique. I absolutely love my job! When I wake up to go into work every morning (well, Monday – Friday) I don’t even feel like I am going to work. There is just something about making cupcakes and sweet treats all day, no one can hate that! Besides working there I also have my own little cake venture on the side. I am self-taught in the art of fondant cakes. I started out doing them for family and friends but have recently built up a little clientele which really helps out in paying the bills. I am a single parent to my little angle but I am okay with that because it means twice the hugs for me. I have been going to college for what seems like ever, majoring as a history major. It is kind of a career fail because I didn’t discover my love of cakes and cupcakes until after I started college. I am planning on becoming a history teacher. Being a teacher will be the best option for me and my daughter because I will have the same schedule as her which is extremely important to me because I am her only parent. It will be great having summer and breaks off together! One day when she is all grown up maybe I can pursue my dream and love in life which would be to own my own bakery. Until then I will put my dreams on the back burner to make sure she has her mommy as much as possible and has a great life!!

  1. Hi five for being a single mom and being responsible for you and your child's life. I grew up with a single mom and she is the strongest person I know! You can do this girl! You seem to have your head on straight and your eye on the prize!

  2. Round of applause to you and everything you do for your daughter! I imagine you must constantly keep a busy schedule! I think being a teacher would be the perfect job for you as well. I am also planning on becoming an Elementary teacher, and part of my reason to become one was because I think it's the perfect job for a mother. I love History so I can relate to you there as well! I think it's hands down the best and most interesting subject. Good luck to you & your future of becoming a teacher! :)

  3. The things we will do for our children. What you are doing with your life is a great thing. You are working to create a better life for your child. I think that shows everyone what kind of parent you are.

Who doesn't love cake? I don't even know what fondant cake is, but I bet I would eat it. If I could make it my birthday everyday I would just so I could eat cake.

  4. It seems like you have your priorities in the right order. I am a product of a single mother and I owe all of what i am to her sacrifice for me. Your daughter will love you for it in the long run. I have no doubt you'll be sucessful at you dream venture, given that you present side business is relate to that. Keep up the hard work.
